The yarn studio is situated at my house in Burra, Shetland. The studio is attached to the house but has it’s own external door which you will see as you approach the house. I will have open studio events at various times during the year (check social media for details) or I can be open by appointment, please email me or use the contact form to arrange a time. When the studio is open you will see a board with a photo of a sheep at the end of the road (unless it’s really windy!).
Directions:
Head toward Scalloway but before you go into Scalloway take the junction on the left-hand side towards Burra Isle. Keep going to Burra, you will cross two bridges. When you cross the second bridge into Burra, at the top of the steep hill turn left at the junction towards Bridge End. The house is only a short drive from this junction.
You will go around a sharp bend then go past the Meal Beach car park (on your left) and head right up the hill. There’s a red house on the left-hand side half way up the hill, my house and studio is the next one. There is a dry-stone dyke around the front of the house and a light grey conservatory facing the road. The door is on the porch and has a Langsoond sticker on it, this is where the yarn is!
The post code is ZE2 9LB which will get you to the right area but the house doesn’t register on Sat Nav!
